Burmese American citizen sentenced to five year imprisonment

Burmese American citizen, Kyaw Zaw Lwin (aka Ko Nyi Nyi Aung), was sentenced to five years imprisonment this morning.

He has been sentenced to three years under section 468 of the Penal Code and to one year under Section 24 of the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act and one year under Section 6(3) of the Residents of Burma Registration Rule.

   

Political Prisoner on Hunger Strike

Kyaw Zaw Lwin (a.k.a. Nyi Nyi Aung), a political prisoner in Burma’s notorious Insein Prison, is currently on hunger strike.  He is on hunger strike to protest losing prisoners’ rights.
